We are proud to share that the Provizio SEM Scanner has been recognised by UCLA as one of the Top 25 Bruinventions of the 21st Century, featured in the Fall 2025 issue of UCLA Magazine.
Coming in at number 10 on the list, the Provizio SEM Scanner is highlighted for its ability to detect early-stage pressure injuries up to 10 days before damage becomes visible to the naked eye. UCLA notes that the technology has now been used on more than a million patients and is estimated to have prevented 50,000 pressure injuries. It is a recognition that speaks to the real-world clinical impact the technology is having every day.

The honor places the Provizio SEM Scanner in remarkable company. The full list features 25 groundbreaking innovations born out of UCLA, including the breast cancer drug Ibrance, the world’s first in-human bladder transplant, a stem cell cure for a rare and deadly childhood immune disorder, and Siri, the AI voice assistant that reached more than half a billion devices at its peak. Each invention on the list represents years of dedicated research and a commitment to improving lives.
We are honored to be counted among so many extraordinary innovations that reflect the spirit of discovery at UCLA. This recognition is a testament to the work of everyone who has contributed to bringing the Provizio SEM Scanner from research to clinical reality.
